Teresa is a Portuguese freelance dance maker. She graduated in Fontys
dansacademie in the Netherlands as theater dance performer in 2010.
Having previously pursued training in classical dance and practiced horseback
riding and swimming.
Since her graduation Teresa worked as a dancer for: Cie Dogwolf,
choreography Chris Feyter (Antwerp); Einat Tuchman (Productiehuis Brabant
and Brussels); Loutop cie (Zurich); Collettivo 320 Chili (Turin); Il Cantiere -
Sara Marasso (Turin) Dot and Company 504, choreographed by Paul
Since 2012 Teresa collaborates with the choreographer and artist Vânia Gala.
She participated in Invited Guests (London), Cooling Down signs (Beyond Front @, Zagreb / Ljubljana / Budapest) and 35 of nothing to say (Choreoroam, show in Toutchwood, The Place). Part of this collaboration is the participation in conferences on dance: Constructing Futures in Artez Danseacademie (Arhnem), 2013; La danse comme experience in CRAL / EHESS (Paris); The Practice of (in) visibility conference in Brighton University, 2015. Currently they are part of the Forum for artistic Practises organised in Laban School of contemporary dance (London).
As a young author, Teresa is co-creator of the Mammalian collective (Brussels) together with Shosha van Kranendonk and Elodie Morard. Their creations have been developed with the support of STUK, Leuven DC, Provincial Domein Dommelhof (Neerpelt), Danscentrum Jette (Brussels) and La cavallerrizza reale (Turin). In Italy Teresa is part of an artistic research program called Ricerca X in the La Lavanderia a Vapore theatre in Turin. Teresa is together with Francesco Sgrò cofounder of the association Fabbrica C.
